The first dinghy races were held in Bermuda in 1883 and the restricted dimensions of the first boats have remained standard ever since.  Despite their small hulls these boats carry substantial rigging and sails.  Despite their diminutive size each carries a crew of six, most continually bailing!  It is not unusual for a race to start with 6 and end with 5… much of this sailing taking place in Hamilton Harbour during the summer months.
