Crab

Our colorful land crab is an endangered and protected creature.  I have taken a bit of artistic license with his back, most do not sport quite so many beautiful rings and circles but the deep orange and red tones are true to form.

They have historically been seen in great numbers at our south shore beaches but as of late have been a favorite food source for our herons.  You are much more likely to see one in my designs than sunbathing or burrowing on a beach.
